Playfina cashback: a A$1,000 example
Lose A$1,000 in a month on Bronze status and Playfina cashback returns A$10. Before you can withdraw it, you bet A$400.
That is the deal in one line: a percentage of net losses for the calendar month, 1% on Bronze up to 10% on Diamond, credited on the 1st after 00:00 UTC. Half is added at once, half the next day, and both halves carry x40 wagering. The status ladder behind the rates is on the Playfina VIP program page.
The word balance in that split is where the official wording trips over itself. The cashback page says 50% goes to your balance and 50% to your balance the next day, which reads like cash. Rule 5 on the same page puts x40 on the bonus amount, and earlier Playfina wording described the payout as 50% cash and 50% bonus. Both cannot be fully true. Plan for the stricter reading: all of it is bonus money until the x40 is done.
What are the requirements for cashback?
Cashback starts at loyalty level 1. It is not paid to duplicate or closed accounts, or to players from Sweden. The bonus must be activated within 3 days, expires after 7 if not wagered, and any withdrawal request before wagering cancels what is left.
When is the weekly rakeback paid?
Rakeback is the weekly one. It pays a percentage of your bets from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC, win or lose, and lands every Monday after midnight UTC. In Sydney that is 10 or 11 in the morning, depending on daylight saving.
Rates mirror cashback: 1% Bronze, 2% Silver, 3% Gold, 4% Sapphire, 5% Platinum, 7% Ruby, 10% Diamond. The caps are lower: A$310 a week up to Gold, A$7,999 on Diamond.
Side by side, the two offers differ in base, timing and ceiling more than in rate:
| Rule | Monthly cashback | Weekly rakeback |
|---|---|---|
| Paid on | Net losses | All bets, any result |
| Period | 1st to last day of the month | Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC |
| Credited | 1st of the month after 00:00 UTC | Every Monday after 00:00 UTC |
| Bronze cap | A$460 | A$310 |
| Diamond cap | A$15,990 | A$7,999 |
| Wagering | x40 | x40 |
How is monthly cashback calculated?
Net losses means deposits lost over the month, from the 1st to the last day. Wins in the same month reduce the base, so a month that ends level pays nothing.
Three worked examples, all from the published table. On Bronze, the minimum payout is A$8 and the rate is 1%, so you need at least A$800 of net losses before anything is credited at all. On Gold, at 3%, a A$500 losing month returns A$15. On Diamond, at 10%, A$80 of losses already reaches the A$8 floor, and the A$15,990 cap is hit at A$159,900.
The same sum for every status, from the A$8 floor to the cap:
| Status | Rate | Net loss for the A$8 minimum | Net loss that hits the cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 1% | A$800 | A$46,000 |
| Silver | 2% | A$400 | A$32,000 |
| Gold | 3% | about A$267 | about A$25,667 |
| Sapphire | 4% | A$200 | A$31,875 |
| Platinum | 5% | A$160 | A$30,800 |
| Ruby | 7% | about A$115 | about A$68,429 |
| Diamond | 10% | A$80 | A$159,900 |
The last column is the useful one. The maximum is generous only for players losing five or six figures a month. For everyone else cashback is a small rebate, and it should never be the reason to keep playing at the end of a bad month.
- Bronze 1%: A$800 of net losses before the A$8 minimum is reached.
- Gold 3%: A$500 lost in a month gives A$15, then x40 means A$600 in bets.
- Diamond 10%: the A$15,990 cap needs A$159,900 of net losses in one month.
Does my VIP status change the cashback?
Yes, status is the only thing that changes the rate. The table shows each step: monthly cashback 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 7% and 10%, with maximums of A$460, A$640, A$770, A$1,275, A$1,540, A$4,790 and A$15,990.
Notice the jump between Platinum and Ruby. The rate rises by two points, but the cap triples.
Rakeback caps climb more slowly: A$310 for Bronze, Silver and Gold, then A$460, A$770, A$1,540 and A$7,999. Below Sapphire the weekly cap is the same, so the rate is the only gain.
Status comes from loyalty levels: Bronze covers levels 1–10, Silver 11–27, Gold 28–50, and Diamond starts at level 161. Playfina does not publish how many dollars of bets one XP costs, so nobody can tell you how many months of play lift you from 1% to 2%.
| VIP status | Monthly cashback | Max. cashback | Weekly rakeback | Max. rakeback |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 1% | A$460 | 1% | A$310 |
| Silver | 2% | A$640 | 2% | A$310 |
| Gold | 3% | A$770 | 3% | A$310 |
| Sapphire | 4% | A$1,275 | 4% | A$460 |
| Platinum | 5% | A$1,540 | 5% | A$770 |
| Ruby | 7% | A$4,790 | 7% | A$1,540 |
| Diamond | 10% | A$15,990 | 10% | A$7,999 |
What wagering applies to cashback?
x40 on the cashback amount, which is higher than the x35 on deposit bonuses. A A$20 cashback needs A$800 in bets.
The rest of the conditions are tight. The maximum bet with cashback funds is A$8, and that includes bonus buys, purchased bonus rounds and bet doubling. You have 3 days to activate the bonus once it appears, and it expires 7 days after it was credited if the wagering is not done. Bet contributions can differ between games, but the cashback page does not list them.
Run the clock on a real case. A A$15 Gold cashback lands on the 1st and needs A$600 of bets within 7 days. That is about A$86 of play a day, or 75 spins at the A$8 ceiling in total. If you would not bet that much anyway, the cashback is not worth chasing.
One more rule catches people out: requesting a withdrawal before the x40 is finished cancels the unused bonus automatically. If cashback did not arrive on the 1st, Playfina asks you to contact support by live chat or [email protected]. Cashback is not the welcome offer; that one is explained on the Playfina deposit bonus page.
- Activate within 3 days, finish within 7. Miss either and it is gone.
- A$8 maximum bet, including feature buys and bet doubling.
- A withdrawal request before wagering ends cancels the remaining cashback.
Playfina FAQ
Is Playfina cashback paid in cash or bonus?
As a bonus with x40 wagering. Playfina's page says 50% goes to your balance at once and 50% the next day, while earlier Playfina wording called it half cash, half bonus. Either way, both halves must be wagered before they become withdrawable.
What is the minimum Playfina cashback?
A$8 for every status, for both cashback and rakeback. Below that, nothing is paid for the month or the week. On Bronze it takes A$800 of net losses to reach it, on Diamond A$80. For rakeback the same A$8 needs A$800 of bets on Bronze.
Do I need to claim Playfina cashback?
No. It is credited automatically on the 1st of each month, after 00:00 UTC. You then activate it within 3 days. If nothing arrives, contact support by live chat or [email protected].
What is the difference between cashback and rakeback?
Cashback pays a share of net losses once a month. Rakeback pays a share of all bets every Monday, whatever the result. Same rates, different base and lower caps on rakeback. A player who wins over the month gets no cashback but still gets rakeback on every bet placed.
Can I withdraw cashback straight away?
No. Finish the x40 wagering first, within 7 days of the credit. A withdrawal request before that cancels the unused cashback automatically, under rule 9 of the cashback terms.
